Pace Academy is a pre-K through 12th grade independent school in Buckhead with approximately 1,100 students and an average class size of 15. It is one of Atlanta’s premier independent schools, known for its rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, small class sizes, and a student body that consistently earns admission to the nation’s most selective universities. Pace sends graduates to Ivy League and top-20 schools at high rates and places a strong emphasis on community service alongside academic achievement. The academic environment is intentionally demanding, and families choose Pace because they expect that standard.

But even in a school with exceptional instruction, there are areas where outside support makes a measurable difference. Standardized test preparation is the most common: the SAT test a specific set of skills and strategies that classroom instruction does not directly address, regardless of how strong the school is. A Pace student who thrives in seminar discussion and advanced coursework may still leave points on the table without targeted test prep.

My No Assumption methodology begins with a diagnostic that reveals where each student’s specific opportunities are. I do not repeat what Pace is already teaching well. I identify the gaps and attack them with precision.

For Pace students preparing for the essay-heavy SAT or strengthening analytical writing across humanities courses, I build the clarity, structure, and speed that elevate both test performance and classroom work.

Not calculus, not physics, and not the ACT as a whole. If that is what your student needs, I’ll say so on the first call and point you to someone who does it well.

Flexible remote sessions for Buckhead families

Pace families manage demanding schedules. Between athletics, arts, community service, and social commitments, finding time for additional academic support requires flexibility. My fully remote sessions are designed for exactly this situation.

Every session is live, one-on-one, and fully interactive. Sessions flex around your family’s calendar, and your student works from the comfort of home. No commute across Buckhead, no group classes, no wasted time on material that has already been mastered.

Instruction that matches the Pace standard

Pace families did not choose a franchise education for their student, and tutoring should not be a franchise experience either. Large group classes and cookie-cutter curricula do not match the level of individualization that Pace students are accustomed to.

I work with a deliberately small client roster. Every engagement is private, every plan is built from diagnostic data, and the average improvement between a first and second sitting is 140 to 260 points, across 45 test takers in the last twelve months. Every engagement begins with a first call to determine fit and map the path forward.

Pace’s curriculum moves faster and goes deeper than public school standards. I calibrate to that pace rather than defaulting to state-level benchmarks, which means your student spends time on what actually challenges them, not on material they mastered months ago.
Most Ivy League schools expect 1500 or higher for competitive consideration. Top-20 universities generally look for 1450 and above. I build a plan around your student’s specific target and current baseline.
Yes. I work on analytical writing, close reading, and essay construction skills that are central to Pace’s humanities curriculum. These skills also transfer directly to SAT Reading & Writing performance.
Yes. I also serve families at Westminster, Holy Innocents’, and other independent schools in the Buckhead area. Each engagement is tailored to the specific school’s curriculum and expectations.
