Cambridge High School is not a typical high school, and students there know it. Although relatively new to Cambridge opened in 2017 to the school has quickly built one of Georgia’s strongest IB programmes. As a nationally recognized IB World School, Cambridge operates at an academic intensity that would challenge many college freshmen. Students pursuing the full IB Diploma manage course loads that demand deep analytical thinking, independent research, and consistent performance across six subject groups simultaneously.

The full IB Diploma track requires managing six subjects at Higher or Standard Level plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity & Service (CAS). Many Cambridge students also sit for AP exams alongside their IB coursework, adding another layer of preparation to an already demanding calendar.

The pressure is compounded by the reality that Cambridge students are still expected to perform on the SAT, maintain competitive GPAs, and build college applications that stand out against peers from equally rigorous programs. Absolutely. I provide in-depth support for IB Higher Level Math: Analysis & Approaches, covering everything from complex algebra and calculus through proofs and mathematical exploration. Because HL Math overlaps significantly with SAT content, my sessions do double duty to strengthening your IB performance while simultaneously building the quantitative skills tested on standardized exams. Each session is customized around your current unit, upcoming assessments, and any foundational gaps my diagnostic identifies.
Strategic scheduling is the key. IB students already possess many of the analytical reading, evidence-based writing, and quantitative reasoning skills the SAT rewards to they just need to learn the test’s format and timing. Most Cambridge IB students prep during lighter coursework windows to early junior year or between mock exams and finals to so preparation complements their diploma work rather than competing with it.
That depends on the applicant’s target list, but Cambridge IB students generally aim high. For top-20 universities, a 1500+ is competitive; for schools like Emory, UVA, UNC, and Georgia Tech, scores in the 1400 to 1500 range pair well with an IB Diploma transcript. I set a concrete target score during your first call, reverse-engineer a study plan from there, and track progress with timed practice tests so there are no surprises on test day.
Yes. The Extended Essay is a 4,000-word independent research project, and many students underestimate the time management it requires. I help Cambridge students choose a viable research question, build a realistic timeline, develop their argument, and revise through multiple drafts to all while keeping their other coursework on track. IB and AP demand different things.
